EIEIO County Fair Day
Bring your family to Bever Park Saturday, July 28, 2007 for EIEIO County Fair Day. The annual event will be held from 10 am to 1 pm. This year’s festivities will include crafts, entertainment and food for purchase. Highlights of the day will include KCRG-TV 9’s Meteorologist Josh Baynes, the CR Spirits, the Shriners’ kaliope, a balloon artist, local mascots, games and prizes. The zoo and exhibits will be open for viewing. Decorate a bike and
ride in the children’s bike parade. Big appetites are needed as an ice cream eating contest will be held!
In 2002, the Junior League of Cedar Rapids initiated the Expand and Improve Educational and Interactive Opportunities (EIEIO) project at Old MacDonald’s Farm. In addition to renovating this area, several new attractions and programs were added. At its completion, the farm was dedicated to the City of Cedar Rapids. The County Fair Day is held each year to showcase the revitalized facilities and to provide a free and fun activity for Cedar Rapids’ families.
Junior League worked in cooperation with the City of Cedar Rapids and sponsor Guaranty Bank to make this year’s celebration possible.
Locally owned and operated Guaranty Bank, member FDIC, provides business and personal banking as well as trust services through nine locations in Cedar Rapids, Fairfax, Hiawatha and Marion. Staff members of the recently opened Bever Park branch took an active role in the planning and implementation of County Fair Day as part of their sponsorship.
